The person behind East Tamaki Auto Electrical is Steve Tennent;
a highly experienced auto electrical professional with a very long
history with cars, vans, trucks, campers and buses. With over 40
years in the industry, Steve has seen every issue 'under the hood',
so it takes a pretty unique problem to surprise him these days. As
the customer, this experience translates into straight up honest answers,
cost efficiency and impressive service. Steve knows that your vehicle
may be one of your largest assets, and the longer that your vehicle lasts,
the better for you, for the environment, and for your pocket.

What we offer

Mobile or Workshop? Depends on the job

Getting into the car on the way to work and turning the key only to hear some clicking and no engine starting is a terrible experience! We only realise how reliant we are on our vehicle once it's broken. If you don't have a regular service routine in place you can run into vehicle reliability trouble. This is where our mobile auto electrician services help you! 

We service Auckland wide with our mobile setup. We can also see you in Bream Bay on request.

In most instances, we can come to you, or your workplace, to diagnose and repair your auto electrical issues. But because our services aren't just about changing car batteries or jump-starting cars, there may be some instances that our workshop-based equipment (like a hoist) may be required. For those kinds of jobs, we'll ask you to meet us at our workshop in East Tamaki.

We can re-wire your vehicle, complete a full electrical analysis, do a stereo installation, install gauges or switches, set up fridges or dual battery systems, wire in your trailer plug, and the list goes on!

After doing this for a long time, are are some of our more common services when it comes to repairs.

	Car Battery Replacements One of our most common call outs are to do with battery's, it can start with a simple battery checkup and turn into a full diagnosis on the electrical system. Sometimes we find a dead battery can be a sign of other electrical components failing, which can damage your battery in the process, if you let this happen too many times you can permanently damage it and shorten its life by up-to 80%! So, if your car battery keeps going flat, call us to check it out. We stock batteries for everything from golf carts to heavy machinery, boats and motor homes.
	Alternator Repairs Your alternator is among the major components of your engine, without this, you wouldn't be able to run all of your electrical components or even start your car! It's important to have your alternator inspected by a professional when experiencing electrical problems or recurring flat battery problems, because no matter how many batteries you put in your car, a faulty alternator will drain them all. Our experienced and fully qualified technicians have dealt with many alternators and will know if it needs replacing or not. After diagnosis, we'll give you a timely and realistic quote.
	Starter Motor Replacement One of the most annoying things to go wrong is your starter motor, simply because you have the power and fuel to run your motor, but you just can't turn it over! Even through these motors are designed to last for a very long time, they can become faulty and will simply need replacing. Save yourself the stress and risk of getting stuck on the side of the road, if your car develops any of the symptoms of a faulty starter, give us a call so we can come and diagnose your problems.
	Electrical Diagnosis Today's cars have a large and unique electrical system consisting of a huge number of components, and as a result there can be issues that arise virtually anywhere. That's why it takes a specialist that is fully qualified in the maintenance and repair of electrical components to correctly identify and repair any problems that arise. If your vehicle is continually 'blowing fuses' it is a clear sign that you have a major electrical issue, and you should get your car to us for a full and thorough inspection.
	Wiring Repairs Each vehicle has a long and complex system of wires that connect all the electrical components together to the cars main computer or control module. Very minor complications can cause a ripple effect of electrical malfunctions, this can range from a small and easy to fix electrical short within the wiring harness, to an extremely difficult to find electrical short requiring many hours of diagnosis and disassembly. Sometimes the safety systems in place can fail and cause large wiring 'burn outs'. If you suspect any wiring faults, we recommend you call us immediately to do a proper inspection.
